Why play Passive in poker
It depends on the situation but if you "Give them enough rope they will usually hang themselves". Not all the time but most times the aggresive betters cant help but to keep betting, betting, betting. In key plays you can make twice as much on the pot if you played it right. Confusing the opponent is critcal in poker to be a winning player. If you switch your style up it will throw them off. This means sometimes you have to Cbet your top pairs and sometimes you dont, they will do all the betting for you. This maybe unconventional to the style most people teach, but when everyone is playing aggresive poker why bet.

{The more you glorify moving up, the harder it will be for you to do so comfortably.}
Not sure what to think about this quote above from CardsChat.com . Moving up stakes ? should you be nervous about ? Should you change your style of play because they say they play totally different? I have played 8,000 hands now at the new level and am pretty close to break even poker. Wish i was up 5-10 buy-ins but am glad i am not down that much too . My rakeback has increased for the week so thats a plus. Just hope the next 8,000 hands i can get moving the bankroll up.I have played pretty solid poker so far and have uped <<if thats a word LOL my aggresion a little on flp, and turn. I still have a showdown leak but working on it. I feel pretty comfortabe at this level so i will be grinding a lot more hands this next week or two.
Good luck everyone shuffle up and deal and catchem in the air , Chris

time to move up to .02-.05 games
I have grinded my ass off the last few months and finally reached my goal of 100 Buy-ins to move up to .02-.05 games. I have played almost 200,000 hands of .01-.02 games. And on my birthaday Nov 8th 2010 I reached my goal,Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Now i shall grind out .02-.05 to $1,000.00 hopefully to move up to .05-.10 games. I have been told by Cardschat forum members i am wasting my time at these levels and you dont need 100 buy ins to move up. I know one thing i have a big comfort zone with 100 Buy-ins and downswings can be a bitch. Anyway wish me luck and i wish you all luck also. Thanks Chris

Who Is This Guy from Oregon :)
This guy is Dusty Schmidt Aka "LeatherAss9" the one who got me started in cash games. I was at work reading an article about Him .He was playing poker on his laptop in Downtown Portland,Or in the winter trying to pay it forward to the homeless. He raised enough money in a about a week i think to get three familys in homes to start fresh again. I read that he had won a few million playing online cash Ring games. I always played 9 player sit&gos and could build my bankroll up a little at a time. So here i am grinding the Cash ring games from the bottom .01 -.02 tables to work my way up. i believe it is very possible to do that. I started with $50.00 deposit in Full Tilt account my wife gave to me for my B-day present. now i am close to $500.00 to start playing .02 - .05 games. I have an account with pokerstars and started that account on $50.00 and got it up to around $600.00 before i started withdrawling money from it. Then i went on a major tilt on thier site for about a week or two. It was horrible the bad beats i was getting. When you can call the one out card on the river when your both all-in on the flop and he gets it almost everytime you go on tilt. Major tilt so i stopped playing there and started on FullTilt<< Ironic LOL.. Im done writing for now hate long letters good luck everyone at the tables.

So you want to be a winning Player at Microstakes cash games full Ring Poker
First thing is
#1 Rule Dont tilt. If you get bad beat with your AA, or Top pair Top kicker and they have Ace rag catch two pair dont tilt. it just happens and somedays it keeps happening over and over and over.
#2 Rule Play good starting hands and play in position with less good starting hands. You can make monster hands and get paid off with 55 if you catch your set and they caught there ace for a pair.Let them do the betting on most streets..
#3 Rule Figure out why they are doing what they are doing?? Why do they keep raising me ?? are they working on a draw?? did they catch there draw?? If you raise flop and they call and you raise turn they reraise you. What do they have?? What can they have?? Should you fold?? Try to pinpoint them, next time you play them play your strong hand weak all the way to the river to showdown and see what they had and how they played it.
#4 Dont give back what you just won. It's so tempting to play a little looser once you just won a buy-in or two. But it's hard enough to win it so dont give it back so easy.
#5 If your on a losing streak start playing each session with a cap. Say if i lose 2 1/2 buy-ins in a .01 -.02 cash game and buy-in is $2.00 this session, i stop for an hour or a day after i lose $5.00 and no more than or whatever. Write down your bankroll and deduct 2 1/2 buy-ins ,thats the amount you stop at if your losing in that session. Once you stop go back and review the plays you lost money at. Was it bad beats??? could you get out of the situation cheaper?? Should you have folded that hand ??
#6 Review the top players in your game and stakes you play. Why are they winning all the time, review how they play hands. How aggresive they are or how tight??Whats there betting patterns and in what position..

I like this Qoute

Playing QQ .
I would have to say at a Full Ring table you get QQ preflop early pos and you raise the Blinds 3X - 4X . Then you get reraised ?? Wow now what ,shove on them ?? If they are shortstacked probally not a bad idea but if they are full stacked and not a supertight player like 11 vpip the best bet is call them and play postflop poker. Hopefully the K or A dont hit .And if they hit and they have JJ or less are they going to fire out on the flop?? Probally not .. you might be able to at least save most of your stack and get to showdown. you might even win the hand..But reshoving on them preflop typically is a bad choice. Because they will usually call with only a better hand KK,AA or AK ..

Broke even for the Month
Well, I'm done playing cash games for rest of the month just so i don't have a losing month. I made up for my losses and i don't want to go back in the negative..I actually made money with the rakeback but without rakeback i am dead even for the month so i am very happy with that. I will play some tourneys and sit and gos the rest of the few days i have for the month.

Still behind for the month
Well i am still behind for the month on cash games but with the bonuses i am even right now. I just need the cards to hold and not let the river beat my hands like 90% of time . It's been a real frustrating month i thought i had the game figured out and had a really good style of play emulating a top cash gamer but hit a major downward spiral, so i have changed it up a little to another top players style so not to put so much at risk and so far i am moving ahead a little bit but not enough i feel. So i will study, study study and come up with a winning structure that i will be able to change it up when i need to.

Wowsa,,, did'nt want to start out sept this way ....
Well, so far this month i am behind i need to catch up to just break even and get out of the hole for the month. My goal is to have a winning month every month, and so far i have been successful. It is going to be real tuff to make the top 50 winners on Full Tilt this month but i will try my best and not force things at the tables to much. I have had to review a lot of my plays again and again to see where i am going wrong on giving away money at the tables. I have found some leaks already and have plugged them up.So i feel good and ready to run strong . Last month i ran strong in the beginning and fumbled big time the last week of August. This month i hope it's opposite.
Thanks, Chris
Thanks, Chris

Hi
Well i hit a 12 BB loss yesterday the biggest swing yet .Seven of them were bad beats they sucked out there cards after getting it all-in preflop with the best hand. I reviewed my 5,000 hands i played and only two situations i should have got out of ,the rest of them were fine. Oh well, i got 3BB back today at the tables and another 3 BB back from rakeback. Still made the top 50 so, I'm happy :) .And a new month coming up for a bigger chance to be top 10 in Sept.
Enjoy the Week ,, Chris

Took this Picture of Doyle Brunson at W.S.O.P 2010 this year when I took my family to Vegas in June .It was the first time I've been there at the Rio. It was awesome so many poker tables, 100's of them and all the pros were there all over the place.I didn't play in any of the events didn't have that type of cash but played two of the nightly $100.00 tourneys they had at the W.S.O.P. And was fun but they start you out with such a short stack of chips you really cant play the game unless you double up early in the game. I came in 95 out of 195 players the first night and about the same the second night. But i still had a really great time being there.

Poker and Math
Poker is not just a card game of all luck. You have to use some basic math skills to be a winning player. You can pull off bluffs once in a great while . They say usually maybe 1 out every 18 hands but you need to use math to win the most. Pot odds is very important. Pot odds means how much do you need to invest in the
pot to see another card or to call a bet on the turn or river, is it going to be worth how much money you need invest in the pot to win it, even if you think they have your hand beat .So if there's $1.00 in the pot and they make a bet on the river of .10 obviously you would make the call even if you have a mid pair. but If they made it $1.00 to call and you know your hand is beat obv you shouldn't invest in the pot.
Also using card outs to your advantage. If the flop comes 10,9,4. And you have Q,J and they made a bet of .25 into a $.75 pot you would want to make a call because you have two over cards a open ended straight draw and maybe some flush card outs. Which, outs are the cards you need to make the hand. So if a Q or J hit the turn ,you have top pair so theres 3 Q's left and 3J's left theres 6 outs right there. If a 8 or k comes that's your straight so theres another 8 outs.Amazing how many cards you could catch to win this pot .So its well to your advantage to make a call or even make a raise to build the pot up.Use math to take
advantage of becoming a winning poker player, Its fun.

The reason i am playing cash games and not sit&gos
I switched to cash ring games the starting of this year. I was at work and was reading the newspaper at
lunch. There was an article about Dusty "Leatherass" Schmidt he was just coming out with his book
and also was trying to make over $20,000.00 to give 3 homeless families a start. I learned he lived in the
Portland,Oregon area which i also live there and he has made a few million playing online poker starting out
with only $1,000.00 and a lot of determination. I have bugged the piss out of him trying to have me over
to coach me some . But as i figured ,he's a busy person and im just a micro grinder. So i researched as much
on his style of play on P.T.R. and reviewed thousands of the replays on him .Also found he was on cardschat.com with a "ASK ME ANYTHING" post which was really helpful. He has his own webpage
that has helpful blogs he post. Then i researched the top microgrinders since thats where i am and have
learned lots.Good bankroll management and not Tilting off your winnings is key i believe. I will move up in stakes when i have at least a 100 Buy-ins for each level.
